Is Samaj Vivah Safe? Privacy & Verification, Explained

Updated August 2026

Safety is usually the first concern families have before creating a matrimony biodata online. Here is exactly what Samaj Vivah does — and does not do — to protect you.

What is protected by default

Your phone number is hidden from every other member by default. It is only shared once you personally accept a specific contact request from someone.

You control the visibility of individual biodata sections (photos, phone, contact details) — visible to everyone, visible on request, or fully hidden.

The public preview link (used when you share your biodata outside the app, e.g. on WhatsApp) never shows phone numbers or contact details to people who have not registered.

What "verified" means

Phone verification confirms a real, working mobile number via OTP — this is mandatory for every member before they can browse or message.

Email verification confirms a real email address via a verification link.

Samaj Vivah does not conduct background checks, employment verification, or police verification of members — please treat it the way you would any introduction, and do your own due diligence (verifying documents, meeting in person with family, etc.) before proceeding with any match.

What you should still do

Meet in a public place for initial meetings, involve family early, verify identity documents independently, and be cautious of anyone who avoids video calls or in-person meetings before marriage.
